Yesterday I took Colby to get his kindergarten shots and afterwards the boys and I went to lunch with Nancy. Upon returning to my car I found that someone had run into the front passenger side of the car and left part of their white paint on my car. There was no note, no one tried to find me, that I know of, nothing! I was livid! Who runs into someone elses car and doesn't have the courtesy to leave a note. Sometimes I just don't understand people.
After that lovely finding we headed to the Murray pool for some fun in the sun. About 5 minutes after we got into the water they made an announcement that the pool would be closed for 30 minutes. Apparently someone had pooed in the pool. Argh! So they boys and I sat out and I tried to find things to keep them occupied for what ended up being 45 minutes. Finally, the "all clear" announcement came and we headed back in. I kid you not, 10 minutes after we got back in they made another announcement that we needed to clear the pool again. I guess they didn't get all the poo the first time or whomever had the poo problem had it again. So now that we've had a total of 15 minutes of swim time, how was I suppose to convince Colby that we needed to leave. It wasn't going to happen without him having a melt down. So...I tried to find something else to keep them busy for another 45 minutes. We got a drink, walked around, threw balls -pretty much anything to keep them away from the water. Finally, after another 45 minutes we were allowed back in the pool. This time we had a whole hour of uninterrupted play in the pool. We did have to get out for a lifeguard check but were able to get back in within 10 minutes. Once we were able to get back in we had a great day! My boys both love the water and I'm so glad because I do too.
You know I seriously wonder what some parents are thinking sometimes. Cameron is still in a swim diaper and I know when he needs to poo by the look on his face. Not only that but everytime there is a lifeguard break I take him in and change his swim diaper. Why can't others be as considerate when it comes to things like this. The rules are there for a reason and we should follow them. I mean, come on, serioulsy folks!
