Our Mexican Siesta!

On Sunday we returned from a seven day cruise aboard the Carnival Splendor. It's a brand new ship that departs from Long Beach, California and makes stops in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. We had a balcony stateroom on the 11th deck with great views of the ocean and ports. We brought the Pack N Play along for Cameron to sleep in but Colby, being the big boy that he is, was super excited to sleep on the top bunk in our cabin.

In Puerto Vallarta we hired a cab driver to take us around and show us the sights. We stopped and shopped along the Malecon, went for a tour of the "rich people's" homes, went into the jungle for lunch, and stopped at a local beach to let the boys play in the surf. Cameron was completely terrified of the water but loved playing in the sand. Colby, on the other hand, loved the water. He was in it the entire time we were at the beach.

In Mazatlan we decided to make a lazy day of it and took a water taxi to a beach called Stone Island. We headed there with Adam and Erica and set up camp on some lounge chairs outside a restaurant called Victor's. We stayed and played on the beach ALL DAY! And finally Cameron was brave enough to go in the water. We had so much fun just playing in the sand and surf.

In Cabo San Lucas we took a Catamaran ride out to Los Arco's and Lover's Beach. It is absolutely one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen! We were also able to see a Sea Lion Colony who live right there on the rocks. Los Arco's was my absolute favorite thing of the entire trip. After the catamaran we walked around the marina area and headed off to find Medano Beach. Apparently, we didn't do enough research on the distance because after about an hour walking we finally made it to the beach. Medano Beach is also very beautiful, however, we didn't have time to stay and enjoy it because we needed to head back to the marina to catch a tender boat back to the ship.

Colby loved Camp Carnival and spent a lot of time in there doing fun activities with the other kids and getting his face painted like a chipmunk, fun ship Freddy, and a pirate. Cameron was happy doing just about anything as long as he could walk himself, you know that lovely faze he's entering called "the terrible two's". Since we were in a spa room we were able to utilize the Thalassotherapy pool and sauna and steam rooms for free so Chris and I took advantage of that as well. I don't think my skin has ever felt better! I was also able to get two massage's while on the trip and now I think I'm hooked! Good thing Chris gave me a gift card for a massage for Valentine's day!

We had a GREAT trip and are already looking forward to going again. Chris and I would love to go by ourselves but having two kids I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. Hint, hint to anyone willing to keep them.

I love the pictures. I would really like to get the name of the professional photographer you used for the shots of Cabo.

Nice job, Babe.
